However, in 2009, the Dodge Challenger under went a changes and this sports coupe now has a V6 engine and four-speed automatic transmission. The engine has 250 horsepower and gives 25 miles per gallon on the highway.
The 2009 Dodge Challenger has three trims available, namely SE, R/T and SRT8. Out of all the three, the SRT8 is considered to be the best. The SE has 17-inch wheels, air-conditioning, CD/MP3 player, keyless entry, a tilting steering wheel and rear seat that can be split and folded. On the other hand, the R/T has a V8 engine, 18-inch wheels, suspension that is sport-tuned, steering wheel covered with a leather wrapping and the shift has a knob.
The SRT8 has 18-inch wheels, the suspension and steering are better tuned than the R/T, upholstery made from leather and faux suede keyless entry and ignition, sports seats in the front have heating, side mirrors are heated, rearview mirror can be dimmed automatically, a fantastic audio system, cruise control, and xenon headlights.
Some of the features in the Dodge Challenger are optional and these include sunroof, summer tires, GPS navigational and music server system and an audio system with 13 speakers. If you are purchasing the R/T, you can add a 6-speed manual gearbox instead of the automatic transmission. Besides these, there are many other accessories and features that you can add to the Dodge Challenger. However, be ready to shell out money. Nonetheless, the Challenger is definitely value for money and you will enjoy cruising in it.
